Whether you are an avid tenpin bowler already, looking for something to refresh your year at university, looking to form new friendships with some brilliant people, or just joined university and looking for something to kick start your year, joining your universities tenpin bowling club could be for you! As well as playing in leagues between other club members in your university, most universities also compete in a competitive tour run by the British Universities Tenpin Bowling Association (BUTBA).
With a wide variety of competitions throughout the year, there is something to suit everyone, from complete beginners to expert bowlers, with competitions ranging from singles to sixes. It’s never too late to start bowling, and it’s never too late to join the BUTBA Tour, with members having the most flexibility in any sport to fit around their university commitments. With friendly people and a great atmosphere with inter-university competitions and both competitive and social events, tenpin bowling is by far the most inclusive sport available on any campus. It’s also one of the only sports where your university doesn’t need to have a AU club for you to compete, with students from all universities without a club being able to bowl as honorary members of other universities, as well as being offered support in building and starting their own club.

Come and join us by finding your nearest BUTBA affiliated club, or by asking your university AU about what they offer. This is by far the best time to join your universities tenpin bowling club, and BUTBA, with the biggest competition of the year coming in the next month – BUCS! Help your university to BUCS Points victory, and have a massive amount of fun doing it (you could even be selected to represent Great Britain!).
